EmailMarketing

WHY YOU SHOULD BE DOING IT

Whatever you're marketing, are you using emails to promote?

If not, you should be!

Most everyone who is marketing on line uses emails in some ways. But with new technology rolling out all the time (think Web 2.0) email marketing can seem like a tired old relative. Sure, they're around. But who really pays attention to them?

Well, let's take a minute and breathe new life into our old friend, the email.

FACT: Email Marketing is the second most effective method of Internet Marketing, just behind Search Engine Marketing.

FACT: An Email Marketing campaign is easy to implement and can be done at a low cost.

FACT: The actions your recipients take are easily tracked and you can measure your ROI (Return On Investment). Traceable actions include: How many recipients opened the email, how many readers click a link within the email, or did the email bounce back (invalid email address).

FACT: Email Marketing pushes your message to the intended recipient, where a web site must wait for someone to visit it. The most common uses are introducing a new product or service, encouraging repeat sales (upselling) or notifying loyal customers of changes in your business. (REMEMBER: Make sure your emails are following the rules outlined in the Can Spam Act (http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/buspubs/canspam.pdf) which was enacted in 2004. Failure to comply can result in penalties of up to $11,000.)

FACT: Opt-In Email Marketing / Autoresponders work! Creating a method by which customers and potential customers can "opt in" or agree to receive your email increases read and click through rates. Opt in forms can be used in conjunction with autoresponders to create email courses, or a series of follow up emails emails to automatically send out to prospects.

Autoresponders are also used for "out of office" messages to let anyone who contacts you know you may not be available.
